Cycles of Change

You have got lot further than you think you have. In the cycle of change it took me 10 years to go from contemplation to action and it is normal to slip forward and back – but you can break that cycle by keeping a sharp eye out for the signs of relapsing or as we like to say hitting the f*ck it button. After all we don’t want to undo all the hard work.
Whether on a sober sprint, drinking mindfully or going alcohol free this applies to you!

The change cycle:

  • Pre-contemplation
  • Contemplation
  • Planning
  • Action
  • Maintenance

The relapse cycle:

  • Emotional triggers getting on top of you
  • Planning going out the window
  • Giving your inner saboteur the ability to win
  • Physical falling off the wagon – drinking or drinking when you did not plan to!
