July 8 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm BST
Episode 5: Alcohol and the Menstrual Cycle
Findings on the relationship between Alcohol and Menstruation.
This episode of the Club Soda webinar series features a discussion with PhD/Demonstrator Jasmin Warren from the University of Liverpool @livuni. The presentation will highlight the importance of sex-specific research when exploring alcohol use as female-specific factors such as the menstrual cycle have been severely under-researched. There will be an overview of what we know so far and we will discuss the studies conducted within her PhD, which focuses on the role the menstrual cycle and hormonal contraception play in alcohol use.
Jasmine Warren is a PhD student and Demonstrator within the Department of Psychology at The University of Liverpool.
She is interested in the topics of women’s health and alcohol use. Her PhD is investigating the role of the menstrual cycle and hormonal contraception on alcohol use, including how additional factors may influence this relationship.
