Infusion Teas

At Club Soda we are fans of tea (and cake) and we think that you should be too. These aren’t teas in the strict sense (technically they’re ‘infusions’ or ‘infusion teas’ but they are a warm, healthy and tasty and therefore heartily recommended.superberry

We are Tea – Superberry
£4.15

Available online here

I am a fan of We are Tea’s ‘infusions’ because they pretty much taste of what they are supposed to taste of. Ok, you may not actually want to drink a cup of rosebuds or chamomile but at least they have a strong and recognisable flavour. And if you don’t like their rosebud tea you can always use it as potpourri. The Superberry we would advice actually drinking, it has a great deep, sweet sour berry flavour. You can get it in tea bags or as a loose leaf tea, the loose leaf will deliver slightly more punch in terms of flavor but the tea bags still use the same whole ingredients as the loose tea. It also makes a good ice tea although you may want to steep it for a little longer.

Pukka Cleanse Tea £1.99cleanse_on_white

Available from Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Holland and Barrett and online

This cleansing tea is made with nettle leaf, dandelion root and fennel seed, cooled with peppermint and aloe vera. Apparently it is very good for your skin if you drink it every day. I am really tempted to try that because I am a sucker for skin products in general. It tastes mostly minty with a slight aniseed note on the finish. Pukka do a great range of herbal teas, I’m pretty intrigued by the sound of the Wild Apple and Cinnamon.

Teatonics £5.50

Available online here also shops in the South West and Londonslide-04-bkgrnd02

Teatonics specialise in blends of herbal teas that you can get sent by subscription if you feel so inclined. Their Mind-Awakening Yerba Mate is made with yerba mate, grapefruit, citrus, peppermint and rosehips. Yerba Mate (that’s mat-ay, which I did not know for an embarrassingly long time) is widely drunk throughout South America and tastes a little like green tea. It has also been shown to help suppress appetite. Other offerings include Ruby-Red Restorative, which is made with red and green rooibos, hibiscus, cacao vanilla and liquorice; and Laid-Back Botanicals made with green rooibos, lavender, chamomile, hops and elderflower.
