Three cocktails you can make with CEDER’S

This summer is all about the alcohol-free spirits – there will be 13 of them at our next Mindful Drinking Festival. The idea that you can enjoy all the cocktails in the world with no alcohol, but without changing the taste seems like a tall feat, but one that us at Club Soda know is possible. That’s why we’re so delighted at the success of CEDER’S Distilled Non-Alcoholic Gin. Made by the lovely Maria and Craig Maria, it is available in all the major UK supermarkets, as well as online at Wise Bartender.

Craig and Maria developed CEDER’S when Maria discovered how poor the non-alcoholic drink options were when she was pregnant. To solve this problem they bought a valley nestled in the Cederberg Mountains in the Western Cape, South Africa (I know, Laura our founder bought a soda stream when she gave up!). But this valley provides them with the exotic Cape botanicals, including rooibos and buchu, which they use to distill their alt-gins using pristine Swedish water.

CEDER’S comes in three fantastic flavours of non-alcoholic spirits – Wild, Classic and Crisp. We have picked three cocktail recipes to try from their website, and definitely recommend trying them out.

CEDER’S Collins

The CEDER’S spin on the classic Tom Collins, this swaps out lemon juice for lime and results in anamazingly refreshing taste. The ingredients are:

Method: Pour all ingredients (except soda water) into glass and stir. Fill glass with ice, top with soda water and stir gently. Garnish with rosemary and mint sprigs.

CEDER’S on the Beach

CEDER’S has also taken on creating their own version of the Sex on the Beach, with extremely impressive results. This time they’ve mixed out the orange juice with lemon for a delightfully light drink including:

Method: Pour all ingredients into glass and stir. Add cubed ice to fill and stir gently to chill to perfect temperature.

Method: Shake all ingredients (except sparkling grape juice) with cubed ice and fine strain into a chilled flute. Top with sparkling grape juice and stir gently to combine. Garnish with a lemon twist and a cocktail cherry on a cocktail stick.
