Big Drop was launched in October 2016 by the-then City lawyer Rob Fink, along with his school-friend/band-mate, designer and entrepreneur, James Kindred. The idea for a brewing business that only made alcohol-free beer was driven by their own lifestyle changes (eg fatherhood) and the frustration that there were no good alcohol-free beer options. Big Drop pioneered a new process called Reduced Amylase Brewing. This is a fully-fermented brewing cycle which never rises above 0.5% ABV so nothing is extracted which means it retains all the flavour. Big Drop has clocked up 100 international awards, including seven times being crowned ˜World’s Best” at the World Beer Awards (a record for any UK brewer, AF or otherwise). And – the Holy Grail for any AF brand – it’s even won awards when entered into full-strength categories, beating 6% ABV beers in blind tastings. Big Drop is proud to be the official support of Backup Tech, a charity for technical professionals in the entertainment industry. Our founders, Rob and James, lost a close friend to cancer in 2016 and Backup Tech was there to provide support to his family in their time of need.
