Clausthaler was founded in 1979. Developed by Weihenstephan-trained brewers, the core range of Clausthaler beer is brewed to the German Purity Law of 1516, utilising only water, barley malt, hops, and yeast in the brew, ensuring the highest quality end product. Clausthaler emerged during a time when breweries worldwide were racing to develop the ultimate non-alcoholic beer. Fuelled by their passion for brewing beer, a group of highly trained Clausthaler Brewmasters created and patented a brand-new brewing process called controlled fermentation. Science and technology are at the helm of Clausthaler’s values with Controlled fermentation being an innovative way to brew non-alcoholic beer. This process involves stopping fermentation before alcohol can begin to develop. Over the past four decades, Clausthaler has expanded beyond the German market and now exports to over 50 countries.
