Club Soda Venue Hire - Booking Our Speakeasy

What is the speakeasy?

There’s nothing illicit about the Club Soda speakeasy, but it’s partly underground and the perfect place for a party! It’s a flexible space downstairs in our Tasting Room in Covent Garden, which we’ve used to host all sorts of parties, talks, tastings, cocktail classes and other events. 

What’s more – We’ve made our speakeasy free to hire for personal and community events!

What can we use the speakeasy for?

Examples of events people have had here:

• Sober community meet-ups 
• Birthday parties and large bookings
• Poetry clubs 
• Craft groups
• Q&A / Panel discussion 
• Live podcasts 

The speakeasy is most commonly used for mindful drinking communities, birthday parties,s and events we put on for you, such as group tastings and cocktail classes. When does this apply?

Book during our regular opening hours.

Monday to Saturday: 12:00 – 20:00, Sunday: 12:00 – 18:00

Large Bookings, Parties & Meet-ups

For events that require a simple cash bar and aren’t ticketed, we need to ensure that we don’t miss out on other opportunities. So we will ask that you pay a deposit of £100 to cover a minimum spend, which can be put behind the bar on the night or refunded after the event (as long as the minimum spend is reached).  

Ticketed Event

Our intention at Club Soda is to support people through their mindful drinking journey. Part of this is to reduce the barriers for those trying to reduce their boozy habits. That’s why we’ve made our speakeasy free to hire for community events! 

We charge you £9.50 per person. This price includes the first wine or beer and covers the cost to set up the room and all the admin behind the scenes and covers the organiser’s drinks too! You can then add your organiser/event fee to your ticket price. We can either invoice you for the per-person charge or we can do the ticketing for you, and you invoice us in return (minus any additional card fees). 

There will be a minimum spend of £100 which can be covered through ticket sales and bar purchases on the day.

Note: For this type of hire, the shop will remain open, and people will need to access the speakeasy to go to the toilet—aside from that, you will have exclusive access. 

Events outside our operating hours

For exclusive access to the venue, book a breakfast meeting with your team, a brand launch or large party outside our regular hours. We are also open to private hires.

• 25 people in theatre-style seating
• 16 people sat at tables
• 25 people standing
• 20 people making cocktails!

Accessibility

Please note our speakeasy and toilet are downstairs, although we do have an arrangement with our neighbours for you to use their toilets.

We have a partnership with the fantastic restaurant, Caravan, next door. For smaller groups of less than 10, you can order on the day, but for larger groups, preorder with us first. We can recommend the pizzas as they’re quick, easy and delicious. See the menu here
